On the evening of September 12, 1952, a group of boys reported seeing a fiery object streak across the sky before crashing on a nearby hillside outside Flatwoods, West Virginia. Accompanied by a local National Guardsman, they investigated the area and encountered a towering figure with glowing eyes, a dark metallic appearance, and a distinctive hood-like head. The witnesses fled after reporting a strong, irritating odor and an overwhelming sense of fear.

Despite investigations and decades of debate, no definitive explanation has ever resolved what was seen that night. The Flatwoods Monster remains one of America's most iconic UFO-related encounters.
