According to his account, one of the creatures held a glowing object before a flash of light illuminated the scene. Years later, additional sightings near the Little Miami River and the communities surrounding Loveland kept the legend alive.

Descriptions differ from witness to witness, but many agree on one detail—a strange amphibious figure standing upright, appearing only briefly before disappearing into the darkness.
